I am Jackie Rokusek, a defense attorney in Olathe, Kansas. I represent people in Olathe and throughout the Kansas City area in criminal cases ranging from a minor traffic ticket to DUI defense to federal felony defense. One of my strengths as a defense attorney is my extensive knowledge of a prosecutor's preparation for criminal cases.

During my final year of law school, I accepted an internship at the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office. In that role, I conducted numerous domestic violence and traffic trials, including eleven jury trials. Following my graduation from law school in 1993, I accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney in the Johnson County District Attorney's Office. There I was assigned to the juvenile unit for several months before being promoted to the adult felony trial division. Although I handled a variety of felonies, my primary focus was on drug charges, traffic offenses, felony DUI, and involuntary manslaughter cases.

After being offered a position in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas, I became a Special United States Attorney and prosecuted federal drug offenses. I focused on methamphetamine laboratories and gun offenses. In this position, I gained experience in the area of Title III wiretap investigations, federal investigations, and federal motion and trial work. I worked directly with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), the United States Postal Service (USPS), and other federal agencies.

In the past fifteen years I have participated in more than fifty jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in federal, state, and city courts in Kansas. I am a mock trial instructor for the Johnson County Police academy. I serve on the federal Criminal Justice Academy (CJA) panel for the District of Kansas and on the federal attorney appointment list. I am a master attorney in the Earl E. O'Connor American Inn of Court. On June 12, 2006, I was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
