John Cowles has practiced criminal law in Kansas and Missouri for more than 30 years, after graduating from the Kansas University School of Law. In addition to successfully representing defendants in criminal cases, John served as an Assistant District Attorney in Sedgwick County (Wichita) and in Johnson County, Kansas, where he worked with Jackie Rokusek for 5 years. More recently, John was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Missouri (Kansas City), where he prosecuted large-scale financial crime conspiracies. John prosecuted cases for many federal agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Department of Homeland Security. In addition to his extensive jury trial experience, John has argued many appeals in both the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which includes the District of Kansas, and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, which includes the Western District of Missouri.
